About Lyon Conveyancing
Lyon Conveyancing is a South Australian owned firm of Registered Property Conveyancers and members of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers SA and Real Estate Institute of South Australia.
Originally established in 1968 as M A Lyon Pty Ltd by Margaret Lyon, the business was passed to Norman Russell in 1996 and changed names to become Lyon Conveyancing Pty Ltd. Since its founding, Lyon Conveyancing has had many homes across Adelaide including Salisbury, Modbury, Payneham, MacDonald Park, Stirling, Banksia Park and Gilles Plains, finally settling in its current location in Para Hills in 1985. Lyon Conveyancing has now been operating for over 45 years and has become an institution in Para Hills and the wider communities. It is well known for providing quality service and timely and accurate advice to its clients.
In 2009, after over 40 years in the industry, Norman Russell took a step back and Lyon Conveyancing was passed to Mark Duffield, an employee of the business. In 2014, Norm Russell officially retired and Mark recruited Paula Main (daughter of the founder Margaret Lyon). Paula has since become a partner of the business keeping the family dynasty alive that Margaret started in 1968 and ensuring the continuation of the family business for generations to come.
Mark and Paula have ensured that Lyon Conveyancing remains a leading Adelaide Conveyancing business and that it continues to be part of the Para Hills and wider communities for many years to come.
Lyon Conveyancing currently employs four Conveyancers and multiple support staff. In all transactions, communication and attention to detail are paramount and our Conveyancer’s will keep clients informed every step of the way to ensure there are no surprises upon settlement. We conduct the appropriate searches and inquiries to determine whether there are any changes or restrictions not shown on the property title, including:
- council zoning for use of land
- service provider claims against the property (such as unpaid rates or taxes)
- health orders
- acquisition of a portion of the property by authorities (such as Transport SA for road widening purposes)
Lyon Conveyancing goes the extra mile to ensure our clients are looked after and that things happen when they should, as a result the majority of our clients are from word of mouth referrals or repeat clients! Quite often we have clients that may have purchased a property over 20 – 30 years ago that return when they are either selling that first home they bought or purchasing further properties.
